Slater Brothers Entertainment announced an annual film festival in Hamilton, New York, that will debut this summer. The announcement was made as the brothers prepare to bring a piece of Hollywood back via their Slater Brothers Entertainment brand to the area they grew up in and so fondly remember. The trio of brothers recently formed SBE to handle various projects involved in the arts that have a non-profit or charitable focus. Each brother is involved in a different area of the company and plans to host the film festival in upstate New York on an annual basis. The festival will premiere Friday night August 7th, 2009.
The Slater Brothers recently launched their branded entertainment company, Slater Brothers Entertainment, as a follow-up to several sports and entertainment events they co-produced in the United States and Europe. They are also currently involved in the production of several films. Grant Slater, a former senior advisor to the Legendary Sports Entrepreneur Dennis Arthur Murphy, has worked at nearly every level of the sports industry and is currently the Athletic Director of the Hillel School of Tampa. The Slater name has been associated with such films as the Academy Award winning, Ray, Sahara, and the yet to be released film Chain Letter starring Nikki Reed (Twilight).
