Amanda Seyfried takes lead in scifi thriller I’m.mortal

Andrew Niccol (S1m0ne, Lord of War) is calling his next sci-fi film I’m.mortal and Amanda Seyfried has nabbed one of the lead roles, according to Variety.

I’m.mortal takes place in a world where aging is stopped at 25. But there’s a catch, of course. It’s the wealthy who get all the advantages, and while they’re immortal, the rest of humanity struggles to stay alive in a society where time is now the most vital currency. A rebel from the wrong side of the tracks is accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, and soon finds himself on the run from the authorities with a beautiful hostage (Seyfried) in tow. The pair slowly fall for each other, realizing that love has more power than all the time in the world.

Sounds perfect for the Gattaca director.

Niccol will begin production on I’m.mortal later this year for 20th Century Fox.
