Deadline recently reported that production on Expendables 3 is set to start this August and Lionsgate is in advanced talks with Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich, according to CEO Jon Feltheimer.
Patrick Hughes is attached to direct Expendables 3, based on a script by series creator and star Sylvester Stallone. The IMDB page currently lists the credits as Jason Statham as Lee Christmas, Nicolas Cage, Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross, Milla Jovovich, Jackie Chan, Mickey Rourke as Tool, Jet Li as Yin Yang, Wesley Snipes and Dolph Lundgren as Gunnar Jensen.
If the film happens, Expendables 3 would also re-team Jackie Chan with his Forbidden Kingdom co-star Jet Li. The release date is currently set for August 15, 2014.
Expendables 3 director Patrick Hughes last project was Red Hill, which he also wrote. That film centered on a young police officer trying to survive his first day’s duty in a small country town.
