Recently, screenwriter Jake Wade Wall spoke to Moviehole about some of his upcoming projects, including The Hitcher remake, Halloween 9 and When a Stranger Calls 2. “It looks like it’s finally set to go. I know that they’re in the process of nailing down a really big director…but I haven’t been able to figure out who it is yet”, Wall tells the film site. When a Stranger Calls 2. has been fast-tracked, and The Hitcher is due in 2007. In the remake, it’s now a woman who picks up a hitchhiker for company only to find out he has murderous plans for her. Wall picked up the script, from the original version by Eric Red.
