IFC Center

The IFC Center, an entertainment space for New Yorkers seeking out independent film, opened in June 2005 inside the historic Waverly theater. After a four-year renovation, the new complex now features five state-of-the-art cinemas, High-Def digital and 35mm projection, new independent, foreign and documentary features, weekend classic screenings, the series Waverly Midnights, featuring cult movies on Fridays and Saturdays at midnight, the series Short Attention Span Cinema featuring short films screening before every feature, the Posteritati Gallery at IFC Center featuring exhibitions of vintage movie posters from around the globe, along with organic popcorn and natural butter.

Every November, IFC Center hosts DOC NYC, New York’s documentary festival, named “one of the city’s grandest film events” by The Wall Street Journal.
