Ever since Matt Reeves directed the JJ Abrams’s-produced Cloverfield in 2008, fans have been licking their chops for a sequel. Well, we finally have it, sort of, with 10 Cloverfield Lane.
This time around Dan Trachtenberg takes the helm of 10 Cloverfield Lane, working from a script by Josh Campbell and Matthew Stuecken. The new film stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. Unfortunately, that’s about all we know at this point, other than Abrams making a statement to the website Collider.com after the surprise trailer was revealed prior to a screening of Michael Bay‘s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi last night. In the statement Abrams says 10 Cloverfield Lane takes place within the universe of the original Cloverfield, but it definitely does not sound like a straight up sequel. Audiences will find out on March 11th when 10 Cloverfield Lane crashes into theaters.
