The faces of New York Comic-Con 2014 – Part 2

10122014-0459-new-york-comic-con-2014-0364This is part 2 of our gallery from New York Comic-Con 2014. Among the images below include Adam West, who appeared to support the release of his cult classic 1960’s television series, Batman, on Blu-ray. You’ll also find some views of the show floor, just prior to the maddening crowd, along with some shots of DC Entertainment’s 75th Anniversary Batman display, which featured every film incarnation of the cloaked crime fighter, including a tease of Ben Affleck’s upcoming take on the hero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and The Justice League Part One.

Filmmakers La’Mard Wingster and Demetrius Angelo represented the indie action film community at New York Comic-Con 2014. They were hanging out with martial artist & actor Taimak from the cult classic harlem-shot kung fu movie The Last Dragon, along with actresses Jeanna Lue, Denise Reed, Ariel de Ment and Anita Clay, all of whom have appeared in various film projects Wingster has developed. Taimak appeared to promote the upcoming 30th Anniversary event for The Last Dragon at the 2nd Annual Urban Action Showcase in New York City on November 8th.

Some of the panel shots below feature the cast and creators of one of the best shows on television, The Americans – Producers Joseph Weisberg & Joel Fields, along with cast members Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Noah Emmerich and Annet Mahendru – who stopped by to discussed what’s in store for the show’s new season. Michael Keaton and Edward Norton also held a panel to talk all things Birdman, which was just released in theaters. The Birdman panel was moderated by Chris Hardwick. There was also a panel showcasing exclusive footage from DC Animation’s latest release Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, featuring the film’s producers, along with Matt Lanter, who voices the central character – Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman.

The increasing number of indie publishers and artists were well represented at New York Comic-Con 2014. I ran into actress Adaku Ononogbo at the table for artist N. Steven Harris and Xmoor Studio’s Robert Garrett, there promoting their unique vision of ethnic comics. Rhiannon Owens was hard at work on a sketch for a fan when I dropped by her table and Jodi “J3T” Tong and Lockett Down Productions gave us a nice smile before attending to fans of her work. Another booth that stood out for us was Reel Art Collectibles out of Berwyn, Illinois, who supply all manner of classic posters, props and figures from some of our favorite films.

Some of the many costumed shots include multiple renditions of Cat Woman, some throwbacks from the 1979 cult classic gang thriller The Warriors, the Joker in drag, Ghostbusters, Captain America and many, many more. You’ll also find a few examples of the wrapped Chevrolet vehicles that were on display featuring The Valiant, Dark Horse titles and others.
