Port Townsend Film Festival 2009

Bringing filmmakers and filmgoers together in a community celebration of and conversation about the best cinema obtainable from a world-wide palate of genres and historic periods is the mission of the Port Townsend Film Festival.

Each September, the downtown street in front of the town’s restored nickelodeon is blocked off and the area comes alive with musicians, a beer garden, food vendors, and an inflatable outdoor screen. Screenings are free to the public, and attendance usually ranges from 500 to 1000 people per screening. PTFF’s eclectic program of almost 70 features and shorts includes independent gems, first-time features, foreign-language films, documentaries, classics, and cult favorites. The Festival honors top films with “Best of” category awards and in-kind goods and services from industry sponsors including Alpha-Cine.
