JET LI has announced through his official site, that he will play legendary martial artist HUO YUANJIA (1869-1910) in an as yet untitled film for director RONNY YU, whose credits include THE BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR, WARRIORS OF VIRTUE and FREDDIE VS. JASON. Li played Huo’s pupil CHEN ZHEN, which was a fictional character, in FIST OF LEGEND, a remake of BRUCE LEE’s FIST OF FURY. Shooting of the untitled project will take place in China from March to July of 2005.
There is also an open casting call to martial artists from around the world, to audition for the film. Visit www.jetli.com for more details on the casting.
Other projects featuring Li currently include UNLEASHED (AKA DANNY THE DOG), which also stars MORGAN FREEMAN and BOB HOSKINS.
