Third International Film Festival Summit in Vegas

The Third Annual International Film Festival Summit (IFFS) will take place December 3-5, 2006 in Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel Resort and Casino.

The Third Annual IFFS will present three days of keynote speakers, panel discussions, in-depth workshops, and networking events addressing the dynamic film festival landscape and future of the film festival community. Topics include funding and sponsorship, programming, operations and management, publicity and public relations, acquisition and distribution, and innovative technology services.

Film festivals continue to be the most important channel between independent filmmakers and the growing base of indie film fans; outside of major cities, they provide the only forum for non-mainstream cinema. The IFFS is the only worldwide platform to enable the sharing of innovative and creative solutions for festival professionals.

“The Summit is an unparalleled opportunity for us to meet film festival directors around the world and to work with them on the solutions that Withoutabox develops — programs and products that advance the visibility and profitability of independent film. At the same time, the Summit serves as an outstanding forum for much-needed cross-pollination and discussion of new ideas that will help film festivals everywhere continue to evolve as they become increasingly important in the world of film,” said Fred Kramer, General Manager, Withoutabox.

To date the IFFS has over 20 sponsors participating with flagship sponsors that include Avid, Pop, Withoutabox, and Variety.

“Of all the ideas people in our industry have innovated, the film festival for the distribution of films is the most unique. From TV, Film Releases for Majors, Indies, DVD, Shorts, TV and now games, the International Film Festival Summit brings together industry professionals and idea-makers to even further improve the chances for the success of our media,” said Henry Deas III, Director of Markets and Festivals, Variety.
