Clooney to Star in Pet Sematary Remake

Bloody Disgusting reports that George Clooney will have a role in Paramount Pictures’ remake of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. They don’t know how big of a role he has, but he will apparently be in the film, which was written by Dave Kajganich, Mike Werb and Michael Colleary.

Pet Cemetary tells story of a family that move to a house in the countryside of Maine with a pet cemetery and an Indian burial ground in the woods behind it. Shortly after the move, their son is killed. The father finds out that you can bury your loved ones in the cemetery, and they can come back to life. So he does this, and he’s brought back. But the father soon learns that “Not everything that comes back is the same.”

I don’t know how good this film will be, but I thought the original was great. Werb and Colleary have a strong history together also, being responsible John Woo’s Face/Off. They were also on the scribing team for the upcoming live action Tekken film, based on the video game series. Tekken is due in 2007.
