Variety reported that Universal Pictures has acquired a sci-fi comedy pitch called Zoo, from a script written by David Berenbaum (writer of Elf, Zoom and the upcoming The Spiderwick Chronicles). Zoo is based on a pitch by writer Ehren Kruger (writer of The Ring, The Ring 2, The Skeleton Key and the upcoming John Carter of Mars). The plot is top-secret.
