DC Shorts Film Festival aims to spotlight the best short films and screenplays, to celebrate those who make them, and to create a community among filmmakers.
DC Shorts presents an Outstanding First-Time Director award, a Filmmakers’ Choice Award for the best short selected by attending filmmakers, a Festival Director’s Choice Award, and an Outstanding Local Film Award for the best festival film made in DC. Winning filmmakers receive a custom-made trophy and a $250 cash award. Selected films are digitally mastered and exhibited using the clearest digital projection available. In fact, both of the Festival’s venues project in full 4K HD.
