The mission of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute is to advance the documentary genre as a meaningful art form, to provide unique educational and cultural opportunities, and to establish itself as the world’s premier documentary film festival.
Accepted filmmakers are invited to the Filmmaker’s Welcome Reception and the Gala Banquet, and receive transportation to and from the Little Rock Airport, a Festival Pass, and up to two nights stay at the Arlington Resort, Hotel & Spa. Filmmakers are encouraged to take advantage of the area’s thermal baths, hiking, and general beauty, as a bonus to the Festival’s camaraderie, events, and full slate of documentary films. Over 70 filmmakers usually attend each year, and are warmly welcomed by a community that embraces the documentary film format.
