Now in its 15th year, WSFF was founded by a short filmmaker who recognized a need to celebrate the vision, creativity, and craft of short film. In 2000, Norman Jewison’s advanced training institution for cinema artists, the Canadian Film Center (CFC) acquired the Festival. Since then, it has become one of the world’s pre-eminent events dedicated to short films and short film artists.
Access to international industry at WSFF rivals the worlds busiest film festivals, as film professionals attend for the highly acclaimed programming and one of the largest (and one of the only fully digitized) Short Film Marketplaces in North America, adding up to plenty of welcoming opportunities to network with fellow artists, buyers, distributors, and numerous festival programmers.
