Urbanworld Film Fest brings resource website for filmmakers online

Turbohorse, a mobile marketing applications creator, announced today that it has launched a new social networking site called Urbanworld.org, in conjunction with the Urbanworld Film Festival.

Urbanworld.org is a first of its kind on-line community destination for the film industry specializing in urban content. The site will serve as a powerful interactive exchange to give filmmakers, producers and industry enthusiasts’ one key year-round destination to go to learn about the hottest news, reviews and behind the scenes stories to plug them into this year’s festival and the urban entertainment world. The community will be able to network and exchange information; post trailer films, video and news; share statistics and contact information; and send alerts and blog – all within the Urbanworld.org arena.

The Urbanworld Film Festival is the largest international competitive festival of its kind, dedicated to the exhibition of independent and mainstream cinema by and about people of color. Sponsored by BET Networks, Urbanworld will screen 85 films at this year’s festival in New York City from Sept. 10-14, 2008.
