2nd Annual LA Femme Film Fest to be in Beverly Hills

LA Femme Film Festival’s Founder Leslie LaPage announced today that the 2006 festival will kick off on October 5th. The festival will run from October 5th – 8th and include independent features, shorts, music videos, commercials, special screenings and seminars. The four day event will be held at the: Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills at 8556 Wilshire Blvd. and the Wilshire Screening Room at 8670 Wilshire Blvd. LA Femme is dedicated to catapulting a new breed of female filmmakers to the Hollywood’s A-List. The festival highlights emerging artists showcasing their work to industry professionals and audiences. The festival includes screenings, seminars, networking events, an awards ceremony and a fundraiser gala benefiting Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (Breast Cancer Research).

Last year’s 2005 Best Feature winner “Green Street Hooligans” went on to open in over 2,000 theaters nationwide and 2005 winner of the Best Director Award Yelena Lanskaya’s “The Colt” aired on The Hallmark Channel.

LA Femme Film Festival is open to the general public and tickets are available on the website www.lafemme.org or by calling (310) 441-1645. Tickets for individual films are $10.00, seminars are each $20.00, at the door on a first come basis, while a VIP pass for all events is $149.99. VIP passes include all screenings, parties, seminars, the benefit Gala and the Closing Night Awards Ceremony. Students with a current ID are welcome to attend the seminars for FREE.
