Kansas International Film Festival 2009

As a premier cultural and educational event in greater Kansas City, the Kansas International Film Festival attracts local, regional, and national work, recognizing visiting filmmakers and screen personalities, with the intention of increasing public awareness of independent and classic cinema as a cultural, economic, and educational asset.

KIFF boasts an intimate vibe – visiting filmmakers have endless chances to interact with one another, be it at the hotel where they all stay, the theater, or on excursions to Kansas City art galleries and jazz sessions. Festival organizers also help filmmakers make connections within the local industry, and ensure lively discussions and dynamic Q&A sessions at screenings by inviting local groups who are interested in the respective film topics. KIFF’s long time partner, the Fine Arts Theatre group, has been showcasing Independent films since 1982. This partnership is the best of both worlds, bringing together one of the best film festivals in the midwest and the Glenwood Arts, one of the premier art houses in the country.
