Van Allsberg classic The Widow’s Broom coming to theaters

The classic children’s book The Widow’s Broom, by Chris Van Allsburg, is about a widow named Minna Shaw, who finds an extraordinary broom which was left behind by a witch who fell into her garden. When the broom comes to life, it helps the grieving family heal, as it sweeps away their obnoxious neighbors and teaches the kids magic.

Sam Weisman, who directed Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, is set to helm the film, which begins production soon, in Québec, Canada.
