Vortex Sci-Fi Fantasy and Horror Film Festival

The Vortex Sci-Fi Fantasy and Horror Film Festival celebrated its 16th year in 2016. The event screens major premieres, forums, an expo, an HP Lovecraft Walking Tour and more. The event is a four day festival featuring horror, murder, mayhem, music and the best independent film work that has been submitted from around the globe.

Ground zero for this event is the historic Bell Street Chapel Theatre, with additional screenings taking place at the The Vets, Providence Public Library, the Paff Theatre at the URI Feinstein College of Continuing Education in Providence, the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Roger Williams University in Bristol, and at the Jamestown Arts Center.

The Vortex Sci-Fi Fantasy and Horror Film Festival is sponsored by Flickers, the Rhode Island International Film Festival, The Rhode Island Film & Television Office, Amtrak, RISCA, Cox Media, Eurochannel, CW28, Diabolique Magazine, Motif, The Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island, The URI College of Arts & Sciences, The Film Media Program, and the URI Feinstein College of Continuing Education, Roger Williams University and the RWU Film Production Collaborative.
