Sundance Next Fest

Sundance NextFest is a film, comedy and music festival that takes place once per year in Los Angeles, California. The 2016 edition marked the 16th year of the event, which is organized by the group behind the Sundance Film Festival and the Sundance Channel.

Sundance NextFest is a summer festival that celebrates film, music and the spirit of independent artists. During the 2016 edition, six films make their Los Angeles premiere. Each screening is paired with either a special musical performance that embodies a shared artistic sensibility or a conversation with filmmakers and the luminaries that inspired them.

Organizers have also added an outdoor venue during Next Fest, in order to offer more opportunities to celebrate the spirit of music and film in Los Angeles.

The home base for Sundance Next Fest is the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, which was originally opened in the 1920s as the United Artists Theater.
