SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s New York Short Film Showcase takes place two times per year in March and September. The NY showcase features a slate of short films and filmmaker Q&A’s. As of 2016, it’s free to submit a project for consideration, and free to attend as well. Entries must be completed SAG-AFTRA signatory productions (produced under a Short Film or New Media agreement), and must be no longer than 20 minutes including credits. Documentaries are not accepted.
The New York Short Film Showcase accepts submissions by filmmakers who reside in states east of the Mississippi River: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin. Shorts submitted to the Los Angeles Short Film Showcase are ineligible for the New York Short Film Showcase.
