2016 – Japanese manufacturer Funai Electric, the last maker of VHS-compatible video cassette recorders, announced that they would cease producing the devices at the end of the month, due to declining sales.
2007 – The seventh and final Harry Potter novel, titled “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” was released with an initial print run of 12 million copies in the United States alone. Like all other Harry Potter books, “Deathly Hallows” was developed into a major Hollywood movie.
