Opening in 2017, Legoland Japan is made for families with children between the ages of 2-12. The features a hands-on experience where families push, pull, steer, squirt, splash, crawl, climb, and yes – build. Enter a world of knights and princesses and conquer Dragon Coaster. Children learn to drive and obtain their first Driving License at Driving School, save the day at the Rescue Academy, explore ancient treasure-filled tombs, and marvel at cities built out of millions of Lego bricks full of animation and interactive features in Miniland. Miniland Japan will feature 10 locations of scenery and city skylines from coast to coast across Japan, all built out of more than 10,496,352 Lego bricks. The park will also feature Pirate Shores, Lego City, Knight’s Kingdom, a Lego Factory tour and Bricktopia, where kids can build and race Lego cars or take a spin on Brick Party Carousel and Imagination Celebration.
Legoland Japan features more than 50 rides, shows, retail shops, food outlets and attractions in the park. Located in Nagoya, the park location is described as being in “the center of Japan,” approximately 2 hours from Tokyo and 1 hour from Osaka. The theme park will open first, but the site will have room for future expansion possibilities, including the addition of a themed on-site hotel resort. The city of Nagoya is reportedly supporting the new park project with development of local traveling infrastructure, as well as a 5,000 space multi-level parking facility.
