Ghost in the Shell director to discuss career live at TIFF

The visionary director of the iconic and influential anime hit Ghost in the Shell, Mamoru Oshii, will appear for a rare onstage interview to discuss his long and dynamic career at TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, Canada this Saturday, July 12th, starting at 6:30 pm. Anime visionary Mamoru Oshii was born in Tokyo and has worked extensively in animation for over twenty years. His unique body of work includes Patlabor: The Movie (1990), Ghost in the Shell (1995), Avalon (2001), Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004), nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes, and The Sky Crawlers (2008), which was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and was an Official Selection of the Toronto International Film Festival.
