Walking Dead sketches to be auctioned off for Hero Initiative charity

Last year, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s comic imprint Skybound and the Hero Initiative charity gave over 100 blank Walking Dead #100 covers to assorted comic-industry notables for them to sketch their own zombie-related art. Today EW reported that the covers will be on display together at a free, one-night-only, Hero Initiative-benefiting show and auction held at L.A.’s Gusford Gallery on Friday, May 31st.

Four of the covers will be auctioned off during the event, two on eBay and another pair on-site — including one that will be created during the course of the evening by artist Todd Nauck (Invincible Universe). Nauck will be joined at the event by fellow contributors Sina Grace and Jason Reeves. The remainder of the covers will be auctioned off on eBay starting June 4th.

The Hero Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical aid and financial support to comic-book artists in need.
