Olivia Wilde (TV’s House and the upcoming film The Year One) and Beau Garrett (Made of Honor, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) have signed on for Tron 2.0 a.k.a. TR2N, the long-in-development sequel to the 1982 Disney cult classic, that Joseph Kosinski, who is also hard at work on a Logan’s Run remake, is directing. This is according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sean Bailey, and Jeff Silver are producing the new movie, along with Steven Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original.

Kosinski has already shot footage to test technology and showcase his vision for the film. That reel was screened at Comic-Con in July to incredible applause.

The original film followed a programmer, who was sucked into a computer and forced to fight in videogames he created. The film has developed a cult following, and contained groundbreaking special effects for the time. Plot details are closely guarded on the new movie, which will act as a “next chapter.”

According to reports, Wilde will play a worker in the virtual world in the new film, who tries to help fight Master Control Program, the villainous intelligence protocol from the original film. Garrett will play a “siren” in the virtual world.

Below is a low quality version of the footage screened at Comic-Con.
