More info on vampire show True Blood, plus new footage

True Blood, the new vampire series from Alan Ball (creator of Six Feet Under), will debut its first season on September 7, 2008 at 9 PM, on HBO. The premiere season will consist of a total of 12 episodes.

In the new show, vampires no longer need human blood because of the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who works as a waitress at a bar in Louisiana and can read people’s minds, is mysteriously drawn to 173 year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), after an encounter in her place.

In other news about the show, Daily Motion got a news report that details just how vampires went from being in the shadows, to accepted members of society.
