Comic-Con International 2008 attendees will be the first to see exclusive footage from NBC’s new series Knight Rider. Fans will also get the chance to watch the filming and unveiling of the new KITT “Attack” car. Debuting this Fall on September 24th on Wednesdays at 8-9 p.m. ET, Knight Rider has been reinvented as a super-charged action series showcasing the new KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand).
Moderated by Television Week deputy editor/columnist Joe Adalian, fans can also participate in a Q&A panel with executive producer/showrunner Gary Scott Thompson (The Fast and The Furious, Las Vegas); executive producer David Bartis (Heist, The OC); and the entire cast – Justin Bruening (All My Children, Cold Case), Deanna Russo (The Young and the Restless, NCIS), Sydney Tamiia Poitier (Veronica Mars), Paul Campbell (Battlestar Galactica), Yancey Arias (Kingpin), Bruce Davison (X-Men), and Smith Cho (Blades of Glory).
On the following day, there will be an unveiling of the newly remodeled KITT “Attack” car with Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo and Gary Scott Thompson on 5th Avenue and L Street (near The Tin Fish restaurant). Please note that the unveiling will be filmed for online and DVD purposes so space is limited.
Here’s a synopsis of the upcoming show:
On the heels of NBC’s hit sequel movie, the iconic 1980s television classic comes roaring back to life as a reinvented, updated and super-charged action series showcasing the new KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand). Absolutely the coolest car ever created, KITT’s “AI” (artificial intelligence) is capable of hacking almost any system. Its weapons systems matches that of a jet fighter, and its body is capable of actually transforming into other vehicles and uses sophisticated holographic imagery to elude villains. Knight Rider stars Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Paul Campbell, Yancey Arias, Bruce Davison and Smith Cho. David Bartis, Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity) and Gary Scott Thompson are executive producers. Based on characters created by Glen Larson, Knight Rider is from Universal Media Studios and Dutch Oven Productions.
