Director Stephan Zlotescu’s sic-fi short True Skin, which has been wowing Hollywood since it went live, has been nabbed for a feature-lenth version by Warner Bros., according to THR. Zlotescu is attached to direct the feature, with Harry Potter’s producer David Heyman steering development for the studio.
True Skin short producer Chris Sewall is also on board as a co-producer. Zlotescu is a special effects expert who’s worked on videos for Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Nikki Minaj but apparently always had his eyes on creating feature films. According to the report, the filmmaker made True Skin on a shoestring budget, hoping to use it as a showcase for his style and ideas. Now Warner Bros. hopes to make a project that has an underlying big concept but on budget similar to found footage sci-fi hit Chronicle.
