Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still) has been tapped by Lakeshore Entertainment to direct the supernatural suspense thriller The Living, Variety reports.

Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will develop and produce the film, with Paul Harris Boardman – who co-wrote and produced Derrickson’s Exorcism of Emily Rose – also on board as a producer.

According to the report, Derrickson is also attached to direct The Substitute, a remake of a Danish thriller for Spooky Pictures, the recently launched production genre banner from Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures.
