Win one of five pair of tickets to advance screening of Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo

The long awaited U.S. debut of animation master Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo is here. The New York Int’l Children’s Film Festival is presenting the first East Coast screening of the film in a special pre-release event 3:00pm on Sunday, August 9th at Symphony Space in New York City. Also, if you’re feeling lucky, New York – Tokyo is giving away 5 pairs of tickets to this event through a random raffle. Ponyo is a wonderful film for all ages, combining brilliantly colorful, flowing visuals and Miyazaki’s unparalleled warmth and humanity in a heartfelt story of friendship and devotion. The film opens theatrically on August 14th.

Ponyo is the latest work from animation master Hayao Miyazaki and his Academy Award winning Studio Ghibli. The story centers on the loving relationship between Sosuke, a five-year-old boy, and a magical goldfish named Ponyo, the rambunctious young daughter of a sorcerer father and a sea-goddess mother. After a chance encounter, Ponyo yearns to become a human so she can be with Sosuke. As to be expected with Miyazaki, Ponyo is awash in pure unbridled imagination and visual wonder-but it is the tender warmth, humor, and devotion of Ponyo and Sosuke that form the emotional heart of this film.

Ponyo features the voices of Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Tina Fey, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas.

Location: Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street, New York, NY 10025-6990
