Director Fred Dekker will participate in an autograph signing to introduce for the first time on DVD, the cult horror classic Night of the Creeps. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be providing a limited edition Comic-Con Night of the Creeps DVD cover for Dekker to sign.

The signing event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 23rd, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, at the Sony Pictures Booth #4313, on the main floor.

In the campy chiller Night of the Creeps, a college couple in 1959, see an object plummet to Earth like a meteor. The boy accidentally swallows a space-slug that shoots out. Fast-forward to 1986, and two freshmen roaming a college campus stumble across the corpse of the boy who swallowed the space-slug. Once thawed out, the corpse comes to life.

Night of the Creeps marked the feature directorial debut of cult horror director Fred Dekker, who went on to helm RoboCop 3, The Monster Squad. He also wrote the screenplay for the cult favorite, which stars Tom Atkins (My Bloody Valentine), Jason Lively (European Vacation), Steve Marshall (Sleeping in a Dream), David Paymer (Drag Me to Hell) and Jill Whitlow (Weird Science). It was originally released by TriStar Pictures in 1986.
