The Cucalorus Film Festival offers a laid-back environment and presents over 130 shorts, features and documentaries from around the world. True to its independent and rebellious style, the Festival throws in a dose of the unexpected with inspired happenings like Dance-a-lorus, a merging of film and dance; a Blue Velvet locations tour in honor of the David Lynch cult classic which was shot in the area; and inventive introductions to screenings.

Screening over 145 documentaries, features and shorts, the festival draws visitors from around the world for a creative exploration of the artform. Cucalorus takes place in the historic port city of Wilmington, North Carolina, which is also one of the leading film production locations in the country and home to EUE Screen Gems Studios.
