Green Lantern: First Flight, the fifth in the feature-length animated DVD series of DC Universe animated movies, will have its world premiere in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con in San Diego at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 23rd, 2009, according to Sci-Fi Wire. Fans attending the Con will have the opportunity to see the film on the big screen five days before it hits DVD and Blu-ray.

I had the opportunity to see the Lauren Montgomery-directed animated Wonder Woman premiere at New York Comic-Con earlier this year, and it was absolutely amazing. Montgomery is back at the helm for Green Lantern: First Flight, so I expect this film to be a strong follow-up.

Christopher Meloni lends his voice to Hal Jordan a.k.a. Green Lantern, and he’s joined by Victor Garber as Sinestro, Tricia Helfer as Boodikka, Michael Madsen as Kilowog, as well as John Larroquette and Kurtwood Smith.
