Cruise to headline new spy thriller for Spyglass

Tom Cruise is in talks to headline another espionage film, this time for Spyglass Entertainment’s remake of French spy thriller The Tourist, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The paper reports the project will most likely be his next film.

Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day) has been tapped to helm the movie, which follows an American tourist used as a pawn in a spy game by a female Interpol agent.

Tourist is a different project from a recently announced Warner Bros. film based on a novel of that name, which is set to be produced and possibly star George Clooney.

Film Fetish Trivia: Indian-born Bharat Nalluri, has directed episodes of the popular U.K. shows Hustle (which airs on A&E) and Life on Mars, which is being adapted into a U.S. series premiering this fall, featuring Michael Imperioli, Lisa Bonet and Harvey Keitel.
